Two days after tying the knot, Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard and his Eagles cheerleader bride Krystle Campbell took a break from enjoying their honeymoon to take part in the bizarre ritual of
trashing their wedding dress for a photo shoot in Maui on Monday.
For those who don't know, it's become somewhat of a trend for a newlywed couple to destroy the bride's expensive wedding gown -- often at a beach or lake -- and capture it on film.
At least she can say she wore it more than once.

As consumer myself, I think that I would partake in this new ritual! I have been married before and my boyfriend has been married before, so why keep the dress that I will wear only once. I am not sure I would allow my boyfriend to do this because chanses are, he will rent his tux.
All of my other girlfriends from high school have been married for seven years or more, they have kept their wedding dress in the box and have not worn it since their magical day. Some of them had spent THOUSANDS on the dress and keep it in a cheap box so no mold/dust/dirt, etc will eat at their wedding dress.
I guess we will see if this new trend will work out for people to do. For those who do decide to keep their dress after trashing it, at least dry cleaners will be in favor for this! Anyways, best of luck to those brides and grooms! Maybe the wedding party should partake in this too because some of those dresses are just AWFUL!
